Our Philosophy:

In alignment with the University of Southern California (USC) retention initiatives, the Office of Academic Review and Retention will construct and assemble strategic partnerships with key constituents across campus and in the community to advance the persistence and retention of academic probation and readmitted students. This will be accomplished through innovative and student-centered programming and interventions offered through the Appreciative Advising Program for students on academic probation and those at-risk of falling onto academic probation.

Goals for Students:

Student Success (2.0-2.3): To prevent students who have a cumulative GPA of 2.0-2.3 from falling into academic probation.
Academic Probation: To assist the students on academic probation at the University of Southern California in returning to good academic standing.
Disqualification: To decrease the number of USC students who may be academically disqualified from the university.
Readmission: To facilitate the readmission of students who have been academically disqualified from USC.
Retention: To increase the 6-year graduation rate of USC’s undergraduate population.
