Yellow Ribbon G.I. Education Enhancement Program
Eligibility Information
Only veterans entitled to the 100% Post 9/11 benefit rate (based on service requirements) or their designated transferees may receive this funding. Active duty service members and their spouses are not eligible for this program (child transferees of active duty service members may be eligible if the service member is qualified at the 100% rate). Due to these requirements, we do ask student veterans or their spouses to submit the VA Certificate of Eligibility with a service end date (the certificate is mailed by the VA directly to students). Children of eligible veterans or service members may submit the certificate with or without a service end date.

Awarding
Eligible award recipients are identified each Fall term on a first-come, first-served basis and notified within the first three weeks of classes. VA award funds are typically released to the identified recipients during the Spring term and hence matched by USC within 10 business days. First-come, first-served is measured from the date the required forms are submitted to the USC Veterans Certification Office; forms cannot be submitted prior to class registration. The number of recipients depends on award availability and program participation, therefore, the award is not guaranteed.
Continued Eligibility for Yellow Ribbon Benefit Recipients:
- Remain in good academic standing with USC
- All VA certified courses must be degree applicable
- Remain eligible for Post 9/11 benefits
- Continue submitting the Application for Semester Entitlement (ASE)
- ASE form can only be submitted after you register for classes each term
